GAMEPLAY

The revised gameplay introduces substantial improvements in every mode of FIFA 22. The new artificial intelligence for goalkeepers ensures more realistic behavior by the goalkeepers in the most delicate position. New ball physics rewrite every pass and every goal, while explosive sprinting lets you harness the acceleration of faster players.

• Goalkeepers revisited - The new AI system applied to goalkeepers makes the full backs more reliable on shots and allows them to make more effective decisions between the posts. In FIFA 22, goalkeeper positioning replicates the different styles adopted by full backs around the world, to represent those who make reflexes their strong point.
  
  
• Real ball physics - The real data imported into FIFA 22 introduces a new level of realism to the physics of the ball. The modified parameters include speed, spin, air resistance, ground resistance and rolling resistance and make every touch, stop, shot, volley, pass and dribble feel just like the real thing.
  
  
• Explosive Sprint - The new Explosive Sprint mechanic modifies gameplay in 1v1 situations, granting more acceleration control when dribbling or defending. Lure your opponents in and choose when to unleash your speed to escape the marking as you lead your team's attack.
  
  
• New offensive tactics - New offensive tactics allow you to define your team's style of play in more detail. Choose different styles for your team in each part of the pitch: keep the ball in your own half and rely on quick maneuvering to hit opponents, use long balls from one box to another or adopt your own style of play.
